Btrfs scrub is a filesystem checking tool that reads all the data and metadata on the filesystem and uses checksums and the duplicate copies from RAID storage to identify and repair any corrupt data
To start a BTRFS scrub and to check the status of this process:
(1) # btrfs scrub start / (2) # btrfs scrub status /

Although I am currently using KDE, Gnome was the first Desktop Environment I used.
This bug was first reported on 2021-12-06 with KDE Plasma 5.23.4 and there is still no fix in version 5.27.3!

The freeze is presumably caused by Firefox attempting to update the clipboard and show a notification at the same time.
A temporary solution would be to disable Firefox notifications:
